goodbye time for Microsoft's MSN Web messenger

It's goodbye time for Microsoft's MSN Web messenger. The IT giant Microsoft recently said that its popular messenger platform MSN wou
ld retire and be replaced by already available new IM in the Windows Live Hotmail.

According to a blog on the Windows Live team website, "With new web-based instant messaging (IM) now available in Windows Live Hotmail worldwide, we are preparing to retire MSN Web Messenger. The old MSN Web Messenger experience will end on June 30, 2009."

The new messenger aims to provide users with easier and convenient communication while checking mails on the company's free email service Hotmail. With Hotmail's new web-based IM, users can chat from their inbox or contact list, instead of going to MSN Web Messenger, added the blog.

Yahoo to finally shut Yahoo 360

Another Yahoo service is closing officially. Yahoo 360, which was supposed to close early last year, is finally shutting its doors on
July 13, according to a blog post written on the site.

"Over the past two years there has been a lot of discussion about the closure of Yahoo! 360° and the transition to our new profiles experience that we’ve had in the works. Today, we’re able to firmly say that on July 13, 2009 Yahoo! 360° will be closing down and you’ll be asked to move into your new profile on Yahoo!, by July 12, 2009," goes the blog.

Yahoo 360 was launched in March 2005 as a ocial network/blogging service. However, the service could never really gain popularity. In fact, several analysts cite Yahoo 360's failure as an example of a hot Internet property that Yahoo failed to cash on.

According to ComScore, Yahoo 360 had 13.9 million worldwide unique visitors in April.

In October 2007, when the company first announced that it would close Yahoo 360, it aimed move to a 'universal' Yahoo profile. The company reiterated the plan during its Yahoo Open Strategy (YOS) launch in April 2008.

In September last year, Yahoo also shut its other social-networking site, Yahoo Mash. Late last year company launched its "universal" profile service, Yahoo Profiles, which incorporates basic social-networking functions. However, Yahoo Profiles doesn't match the features of Yahoo 360.

Microsoft releases free anti-virus

Hoping to dispel fears about the vulnerability of Windows to viruses and other malware, Microsoft released a trial version of a n
ew free security package called Microsoft Security Essentials.

The software is designed to replace the Windows Defender tool that Microsoft released in 2007, but which was widely derided as being inadequate to protect computers from the constant and ever-evolving threats posed by hackers.

Microsoft has been widely criticised for failing to include free and effective security software in its Windows operating systems, which are targeted far more intensely by malicious software than the rival Linux and Apple systems.

The world's largest software company said that Microsoft Security Essentials is available to the first 75,000 subscribers in the US, Israel, Brazil and China. The software is meant to run in the background, without constantly bombarding users with security alerts or using a lot of system resources.

A full version of the software is expected to become available in September.

Listen to an AD on your Mobile and Earn MONEY

Many mobile phone users say the number of ads being sent to their phones has increased sharply. In the months to come, the numbers could go up many times more. The trouble is, the ads tend to be spams, trying to sell everything — from property to baby clothes — to everybody. Naturally, users are beginning to protest.
But now, developers of mobile phone applications are beginning to work on solutions that incentivise users to accept ads. IMImobile is doing a pilot project with a telecom operator that seeks to come to the aid of prepaid users who run out of talk-time and need to make urgent calls. The user will need to send an SMS to a designated number or dial up an interactive voice response system. The system will recognize the number and play ads, depending on the user profile. After playing one or two ads, the user will be prompted to punch in the number he desires to call and the system will connect him to the third party. It’s the reward for having listened to those ads. “The talktime is pre-determined and can be customized as per client requirement,” says Sudarshan Dharmapuri, VP for product management in IMImobile.
OnMobile has ad ring back tones (AdRBT). When a user gets a call, the caller will be presented with audio ads, which is personalized as per his/her profile. The platform has a unique call-to-action feature which allows interested users to respond to the advertisement instantly with the click of a single key. Users who have subscribed to Ad RBT will receive special discounts and offers from the operator to participate in this programme.
“The mobile advertising space is nascent but with such targeted advertising, it is scalable and promising. There needs to be more promotional and awareness activities,” says Pratapa Bernard, head of marketing & products in OnMobile. The ads are available in 10 languages and are played in a language based on the location of the caller. mGinger pays users to receive mobile ads via SMS. Users get 20 paise for each ad. Users also get 10 paise for referring friends and relatives and 5 paise for every ad their friends referrals receive. Once a subscriber accumulates rs 300 in his account, mGinger issues a cheque to him. A recent survey by consultancy firm KPMG found that Indian consumers are open to receiving ads in exchange for free content. The survey saw nearly 80% of users interested in free music downloads in exchange for listening to mobile advertisements.
Vodafone Essar launched a service earlier this year that gets you a caller tune free if you allow every fourth call to be an ad call. The tune will otherwise cost you Rs 30 a month. “Right now it is mostly the FMCG companies —- Cadbury, Coke — who are using the service,” says K Sankara Narayanan, CEO of Vodafone Essar. The service today has 15,000 to 20,000 users subscribed for it. “With a 71 million plus subscriber base and each subscriber receiving an average of 10 incoming calls per day, a penetration of 4-5% on ad RBT makes it the single most powerful marketing medium on the mobile in the country,” says Narayanan.
The mobile advertising market is currently about Rs 50 crore and is estimated by some to grow to Rs 500 crore by 2011. Some of the other companies trying mobile advertising are CitiFinancial Consumer Finance India, Max New York Life Insurance, Reebok, Rolex, Nike and Bingo chips.

Gmail new Look in later this year

About Google Wave

Google Wave is a new model for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year.
Here's a preview of just some of the aspects of this new tool.

Google Wave is a product that helps users communicate and collaborate on the web. A "wave" is equal parts conversation and document, where users can almost instantly communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. Google Wave is also a platform with a rich set of open APIs that allow developers to embed waves in other web services and to build extensions that work inside waves.
What is a wave?

A wave is equal parts conversation and document.People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.
Some key technologies in Google Wave

Real-time collaboration Natural language tools Extending Google Wave

Concurrency control technology lets all people on a wave edit rich media at the same time.

Server-based models provide contextual suggestions and spelling correction.

Embed waves in other sites or add live social gadgets, thanks to Google Wave APIs.

What is cloud computing

Cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet.[1][2] Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure in the "cloud" that supports them.[3]

The concept generally incorporates combinations of the following:

* infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
* platform as a service (PaaS)
* software as a service (SaaS)
* Other recent (ca. 2007–2009)[4][5] technologies that rely on the Internet to satisfy the computing needs of users. Cloud computing services often provide common business applications online that are accessed from a web browser, while the software and data are stored on the servers.

The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on how the Internet is depicted in computer network diagrams and is an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it conceals.[6]

The first academic use of this term appears to be by Prof. Ramnath K. Chellappa (currently at Goizueta Business School, Emory University) who originally defined it as a computing paradigm where the boundaries of computing will be determined by economic rationale rather than technical limits.[7]

Characteristics

Cloud computing customers do not generally own the physical infrastructure serving as host to the software platform in question. Instead, they avoid capital expenditure by renting usage from a third-party provider. They consume resources as a service and pay only for resources that they use. Many cloud-computing offerings employ the utility computing model, which is analogous to how traditional utility services (such as electricity) are consumed, while others bill on a subscription basis. Sharing "perishable and intangible" computing power among multiple tenants can improve utilization rates, as servers are not unnecessarily left idle (which can reduce costs significantly while increasing the speed of application development). A side effect of this approach is that overall computer usage rises dramatically, as customers do not have to engineer for peak load limits.[13] Additionally, "increased high-speed bandwidth" makes it possible to receive the same response times from centralized infrastructure at other sites.

[edit] Economics
Diagram showing economics of cloud computing versus traditional IT, including capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational expenditure (OpEx)

Cloud computing users can avoid capital expenditure (CapEx) on hardware, software, and services when they pay a provider only for what they use. Consumption is billed on a utility (e.g. resources consumed, like electricity) or subscription (e.g. time based, like a newspaper) basis with little or no upfront cost. Other benefits of this time sharing style approach are low barriers to entry, shared infrastructure and costs, low management overhead, and immediate access to a broad range of applications. Users can generally terminate the contract at any time (thereby avoiding return on investment risk and uncertainty) and the services are often covered by service level agreements (SLAs) with financial penalties.[14][15]

According to Nicholas Carr, the strategic importance of information technology is diminishing as it becomes standardized and less expensive. He argues that the cloud computing paradigm shift is similar to the displacement of electricity generators by electricity grids early in the 20th century.[16]

Although companies might be able to save on upfront capital expenditures, they might not save much and might actually pay more for operating expenses. In situations where the capital expense would be relatively small, or where the organization has more flexibility in their capital budget than their operating budget, the cloud model might not make great fiscal sense. Other factors impacting the scale of any potential cost savings include the efficiency of a company’s data center as compared to the cloud vendor’s, the company’s existing operating costs, the level of adoption of cloud computing, and the type of functionality being hosted in the cloud. Newfolder.exe virus Removal method

First of all, you have to remove its primary weapon. Autorun.inf. To do that, follow the instrustion

  • First, click on start >> run
  • Type “cmd” (without quotes) and press enter
  • Go to root, meannig, type “cd..” (without quotes) till you reach the command prompt “C:\>”
  • There, type “attrib -h -r -s autorun.inf” (without quotes) and press enter
  • Type “del autorun.inf” (without quotes) and press enter
  • Type “md\autorun.inf ” (without quotes) and press enter
  • This must be repeated on all drives. To change the drive just say “d:” (without quotes) or “e:” (without quotes) and so on.

Now lets remove it from the startup

  • Click start->run and type msconfig and click ok
  • Go to startup tab look for regsvr and uncheck the option click OK.
  • Click on Exit without Restart, cause there are still few things we need to do before we can restart the PC.
  • Now go to control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the At1 task listed their.

Now the gpedit part. If yours is XP home, then you will have to download and install it. You can do it from here. Once done follow these instructions

  • Click on start -> run and type gpedit.msc and click Ok
  • Go to users configuration->Administrative templates->system
  • Find “prevent access to registry editing tools” and change the option to disable.

Once you do this you have registry access back so that you can change their values. This is done as follows. Please take a backup before editing registry

  1. Click on start->run and type regedit and click ok
  2. Go to edit->find and start the search for regsvr.exe
  3. Delete all the occurrence of regsvr.exe. KEEP IN MIND regsvr32.exe is not to be deleted. Delete regsvr.exe occurrences only.
  4. At one ore two places you will find it after explorer.exe in theses cases only delete the regsvr.exe part and not the whole part. E.g. Shell = “Explorer.exe regsvr.exe” the just delete the regsvr.exe and leave the explorer.exe

Once this is done, close the Regedit window. Now the final step in the removal process

  1. Click on start->search->for files and folders.
  2. There click all files and folders and all your drives
  3. Type “*.exe” (without quotes) as filename to search for
  4. Click on ‘when was it modified ‘ option and select the specify date option. For example type from date as 1/1/2009 and also type To date as 1/2/2009. This depends on when your folders were modified.
  5. Now hit search and wait for all the exe’s to show up.
  6. Once search is over select all the exe files and shift+delete the files, caution must be taken so that you don’t delete the legitimate exe file that you have installed on 1st jan.
  7. Also selecting lot of files together might make your computer unresponsive so delete them in small bunches.
  8. Also find and delete regsvr.exe, svchost .exe( notice an extra space between the svchost and .exe)
  9. Make sure that you delete only the folders first as thats what is attacked in such viruses. The .exe files must be carefully deleted by examining them.

Google Translation kit

The standard Google Translation service is pretty good for translating documents that exist on the web but if you ever need to translate Word files that reside on your local hard drive, the translator toolkit will come in handy.

It’s an online service where you can upload Word Documents or text files and translate them from one language to another instantly.

The document formatting is more or less preserved and you can download the translated files to your desktop in their original format like Word, OpenOffice or HTML. Unlike regular Google Translation which is read-only, here you also have the option to edit the translated version of the document in the browser itself.

The only condition is that the size of these individual documents, that you intend to upload for translation, should not exceed 1 MB.

China Asks PC Vendors to Pre-Install Web Blocking Software on all Computers

The Chinese Government has asked computer vendors to pre-bundle a web blocking software that will automatically block access to websites that are banned or considered illegal in China.

The ruling comes into effect from July 1 so whether you buy a Dell, HP or Lenovo in China, chances are high that your new Windows PC will come pre-installed with this blocking software so you can only visit sites that the government wants you to see. No BBC, YouTube, Wikipedia, Twitter or Blogger.

Green Dam-Youth Escort

This web blocking software, known as Green Dam-Youth Escort, has an auto-update feature so it will regularly download an updated list of banned sites from the Internet (like your antivirus definitions) and new site that gets banned in China instantly becomes inaccessible on your PC as well.

The Chinese government says that the software is intended to "block access to pornography" but it’s pretty obvious that they’ll use it to restrict content that is considered taboo in China including democracy, Tibet or Falun Gong.

Windows Only - The only good new is that the software is currently available only for Windows so Mac and Linux machines won’t come preloaded as of now

Microsoft’s new rival to Google: Bing

SEATTLE: Microsoft Corp is revamping its search engine to counter the dominance of Google Inc in the Web search and related advertising business
.

The world's largest software company, which is still in talks with Yahoo Inc over a potential partnership, has long been determined to play a major role in the lucrative Web search market after watching upstart Google take a stranglehold.

Microsoft, which has been testing the search engine internally under the name Kumo for several months, plans to introduce the new service, re-christened "Bing," over the next few days, with a full launch next Wednesday. The service will be available at www.bing.com.

Advertising Age reported earlier this week that Microsoft was planning a $80 million to $100 million ad campaign to promote Bing. Microsoft declined to comment on the report.

"We'll have what I would call a big budget -- big enough that I had to gulp when I approved the budget," said Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, who unveiled Bing at a technology conference in Carlsbad, California, run by the All Things Digital tech blog.

The Redmond, Washington-based firm has lots of ground to make up. Last month Google took 64.2 percent of US Internet searches -- up half a percentage point from the month before -- handling 9.5 billion out of a total of 14.8 billion searches.

Yahoo was a distant second with 20.4 percent of searches and Microsoft third with 8.2 percent, both down slightly from the month before, according to data firm comScore.

Ballmer offered no quick turnaround in those numbers. "My timeframe is lots of years," he said at the conference. "I don't have a specific forecast, but this is lots of years."

The new name, Bing, is short, universal and can be "verbed-up," said Ballmer, a clear reference to the fact that 'to Google' has become the generic verb for searching the Internet for information.

New features
Both Google and Yahoo have recently introduced new features in their search engines to attract users, making Microsoft's task even harder.

Microsoft is calling its new product a "decision engine," promising to make things like buying a digital camera, booking a flight or searching for a restaurant easier by serving up results based on similar previous searches.

A search on a make of car, for example, will bring up clickable categories on the left-hand sidebar, such as 'problems,' 'reviews' and 'dealers,' which Microsoft has calculated are the most likely places a Web user will want to go from the initial search.

Bing also incorporates the increasingly popular Farecast service in its flight booking section -- making use of the company it bought last year -- which predicts whether fares will rise or fall.

Other new features include getting directions to locations with only one mouse click, and the ability to hover over a search result to see more information, without having to open a new link. C

Microsoft's shares rose 36 cents to $20.49 on Nasdaq at mid-afternoon. Google edged up 1.1 percent to $409.96 and Yahoo shares rose 1 percent to $15.09.

BlackBerry Guide for Power Users - Do More With Your BlackBerry

A BlackBerry smartphone definitely makes you more productive but there’s a small learning curve involved.

If you don’t have the time to read manuals, here’s a quick overview of some great time-saving features, tips and lesser known keyboard shortcuts that will help you do things quickly and more efficiently with your BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Guide for Power Users - Take full advantage of your BlackBerry smartphone.

Close vs Escape - If you are running a browser or playing a game in your BlackBerry and press the "End Call" key, the application does not get closed but is merely hidden from your view. Too many open applications will soon slow down your BlackBerry so make it a habit to close, not escape.

See What’s Running - To see a list of all open applications in your Blackberry, press the ALT key followed by Escape. It’s pretty much like doing an Alt+Tab in Windows to help you navigate through open applications or switch from one application to another.

blackberry-internet Save Web Pages - When you come across an interesting webpage but have no time reading it, you would normally send a link of that page as an email to yourself. To save time, simply open the menu of your BlackBerry internet browser and select “Save Page” – that page will be added to your message list just like other emails. This is like a built-in clipping tool.

Type URLs and Email Addresses Quickly - When typing a web address (URL) in the Blackberry browser, type a space and it is written as a dot. To insert a slash(/), use Shift+Space. When typing email addresses, your first space is recognized as @ while subsequent spaces are recognized as dots. So labnol google co uk will be written as labnol@google.co.uk.

Delete Your Emails – If you are looking to clean your BlackBerry Inbox, press the CAPS key and scroll UP or DOWN using the wheel to select the email messages that you want to delete. If you want to completely clear the Inbox, press t in the Message view to move to the top and select “Delete Prior” – this will delete all your BlackBerry emails.

blackberry-desktopsSignal Strength – While your BlackBerry will display the current signal strength as bars on the homescreen, hold down the ALT key and type NMLL – the bars will convert into real numbers indicating the exact strength in that area. Repeat the same keystrokes to switch to bar mode again.

Multiple Email Signatures – By default, BlackBerry will append a text signature to all your outgoing email messages that you have set through the BlackBerry Internet Services portal. If you like more personalized signatures, compose a new email message in your BlackBerry, go to “Edit Auto-Text” and set up multiple entries corresponding to your different signatures.

BlackBerry Clipboard – If you are looking to copy text from an email message and save that as a note, position your cursor in the email, hold the Shift key (left Caps) and roll the trackwheel. When you are done selecting, click the trackwheel to put that selection onto the clipboard. BlackBerry Internet Explorer has a special Select Mode to help you copy-paste text from web pages.

Convert Case without the CAPS key – When writing an email message, hold down the key of any letter for a slightly longer duration and it will automatically turn into a capital letter. To type an accent or a special character (like a => à), hold the letter key and roll the trackwheel.

Stop Receiving Sent Emails - Every time you send an email from BlackBerry, you get a copy in your Inbox. To prevent this, setup a BlackBerry Filter.

blackberry-software Web Applications – Blackberry software like Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo! Go, Google Talk, NewsGator, Picasa, etc. offer great experiences but they could drain the battery of your BlackBerry since these applications are constantly checking for updates in the background.

You may therefore want to switch to “manual updates” especially when running low on battery.

HTML Email - The current BlackBerry OS supports only text emails but the good news is the BlackBerry OS 4.5, due in few months, will support HTML email, YouTube and editing of Microsoft Office documents. Until then, you can buy the BlackBerry email viewers either from BSmart or Empower.

Erase Everything - If you are looking to sell your Blackberry phone or planning to exchange an old model with an upcoming version (like the BlackBerry 9000), it is a good idea to completely erase all your BlackBerry data. For that, go to Options -> Security Options -> General Settings and choose “Wipe Handheld” from the menu.

Prolong the Battery Life – You can set BlackBerry to completely shut down at a specific time and it will automatically wake up with the alarm (or any other time) - note that you won’t be able to receive phone calls when the phone is switched off so don’t turn off the device too early. Some more tips on improving the life of your BlackBerry Battery.

blackberry-browser Move Around Web Pages Quickly - If you are reading a long (or very wide) web page, switch to the Page View mode that shows a view of the full website - use the scrollwheel to quickly navigate to any other area.

BlackBerry Resources - To download free BlackBerry software, games, ringtones and themes, go to Built For BlackBerry, Blackberry Owners Lounge or their Mobile Portal.

Screen Capture - There’s no inbuilt screen capture application in a BlackBerry so I use Mobiola Screen Capture that can capture still images as well as a video of your BlackBerry activity. Another option is SnapScreen that is cheaper but offers only still screenshots. The BlackBerry developers toolkit also has a screenshot application that you can have for free.

BlackBerry Blogs - Some BlackBerry blogs worth checking out are CrackBerry, Rimarkable, BoyGenius, BlackBerry Geeks, AllBlackBerry and BlackBerry Cool. If you like to know about Hollywood celebrities that carry BlackBerry phones, go to BlackBerry Sightings.

Got a Problem - If you have a question or problem related to BlackBerry, you can seek help from the Official forums or the more popular CrackBerry Forums. You can also search their technical center for additional support.

You probably know how to create multiple email aliases in Gmail by adding the plus symbol and dots to your Gmail username but there’s something more interesting.

When you create a Gmail account, you actually get two email addresses - one is the regular @gmail.com while the second email address has @googlemail.com in the domain.

That means if your email address in Gmail is something like billgates@gmail.com, all email messages that are sent to billgates@googlemail.com will also be delivered to your own Gmail account. That’s two for the price of one.

Like the article, you can take advantage of these two domains so that less spam reaches your Gmail Inbox.

Give the @googlemail.com address to your close contacts (put that in the visiting card) while keep the @gmail.com address for public (put it on your blog). Then set a Gmail filter such that all email messages with @googlemail.com in the header go a special folder so you will never miss important email from close friends.

How to Find out AIRTEL PUK code

Few people use PIN locking system to lock their phone to avoid un-authorised access. Though this is a good option, it pisses you off sometime. Three wrong entry of PIN code will result in SIM blocking. Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card.

PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider. Airtel has a easier way of getting PUK code. For getting PUK code of a Airtel number, send PUKPhoneNumber to toll free number 121. You can make use of any other Airtel number to send this message since your SIM might have been blocked already.

If the above method doesn’t works or your service provider is not Airtel, call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone & your phone will return to normal.

Send 160 character SMS Free by www.smsfame.com

There are plenty of free SMS providers on the internet today. But the problem with these providers is they allow you to use only 140 characters & fill remaining space with ads. It looks so unusual to put ads inside personal messages we are sending! SMSFame is the first website I know which allows users to send free 160 character SMSs. SMSFame relies on online advertising rather than placing ads inside SMS. SMSFame requirs a simple registration process before you start sending SMS. visit www.smsfame.com

Recently, from almost a month SMSs from Banks, Service Providers, Companies have started prefixing something like ID, AT, VK…etc. What’s all this after all!!? Here I am to explain you what it is! Normally these SMSs originates from a Bulk SMS provider where you can use 11 digit Alpha-Numeric characters as "Sender". But there were some security risks in this method. I was able to give a phone number as "Sender" & it appears as that person at the recipient end. Basically there was a chance to send SMSs as a different person! I was actually using this to fool my friends.

But the new TRAI regulation insisted bulk SMS providers to restrict the "Sender ID" to 8 characters. Other three characters should be used to specify who is the service provider & where it’s originated from. Say for example: HDFCBANK sends an SMS to you using bulk SMS provider located at Tamil Nadu which uses Airtel. You will receive it as AT-HDFCBANK. First character specifies which service provider the message is being originated & the second character specifies from which location it’s originated. Here is the table which has details of these SMS codes:

Service Provider Codes:

Service Provider Code
Aircel, Dishnet Wireless D
Bharti Airtel A
BSNL B
BPL Mobile/Loop Telecom L
Datacom Solutions C
HFCL Infotel H
Idea Cellular I
MTNL M
Reliance Communications R
Reliance Telecom E
S tel S
Shyam Telecom Y
Spice Telecom P
Swan Telecom W
Tata Teleservices T
Unitech Group U
Vodafone Group V

Service Area Code
Andhra Pradesh A
Assam S
Bihar B
Delhi D
Gujarat G
Haryana H
Himachal Pradesh I
Jammu & Kashmir J
Karnataka X
Kerala L
Kolkata K
Madhya Pradesh Y
Maharashtra Z
Mumbai M
North East N
Orissa O
Punjab P
Rajasthan R
Tamil Nadu T
UP-East E
UP-West W
West Bengal V

So, combination of these two constitutes the first two digit of ?Sender? followed by an hyphen (-) & actual sender name.
